Beat The Blitz; Preseason Week 2

Written By: Jason Beck @TheyCallMeDad_3

We are back again for the second installment of Beat The Blitz. Week one granted a decent ROI for most of the players that were suggested, and I am confident for similar results this week. Get your FAAB ready dynasty owners because the following guys will be premier pickups after week 2. Stash these guys while they are still cheap and have an advantage over your competition.

Emmauel Butler:

Butler has been getting a lot of praise since the start of training camp and will show you why when the Saints take on the Chargers on Sunday. The UDFA from Northern Arizona is back to 100% after landing awkwardly at practice causing him to sit out last week’s game. In his absence, Lil’Jordan Humphrey had a nice showing in week one, which will lower Butler’s current value. Obtaining a pass catcher in the Saint’s offense could pay out huge in the near future. Get him cheap now before value blows up.

Tyron Johnson:

Texans fans were in a tizzy on Twitter after Keke Coutee suffered an ankle injury during last week’s game. Reports indicate that his injury is only a “minor” setback, but injuries like this could flare up over the course of the season. If Keke or Will Fuller happen to miss any time this year, Tyron Johnson will take full advantage of his opportunity. Playing opposite of one of the game’s very best, Deandre Hopkins, Johnson would see a lot of single coverage that he could easily beat with his blazing fast 4.34 40 time. If this happens, Tyron Johnson will be a very popular name soon.

Olabisi “Bisi” Johnson:

Led by Kirk Cousins, the Vikings pass catchers are in for an uptick in production during Kirk’s second year with the team. Some will argue that the Thielen/Diggs combo is among the best group in the league along with the Los Angeles Ram’s trio. Adam Thielen agreed to a 4-year extension in April and should continue to be productive. Being so, now is the time to buy low on Olabisi Johnson. The seventh round pick from Colorado State has flashed at times this off season, and even had a nice debut in week one with 2 receptions, 35 yards, and a touchdown. Bisi’s buy low opportunity is now so get him while you are still able.

Jordan Scarlett:

The fifth round running back out of Florida returned to practice this week after recovering from a back injury. Scarlett presents the skill set to compete for the backup running back spot, and could become a valuable handcuff for McCaffrey owners soon. He is worth a stash at this point and could become a value in the near future.
